This gaiwan impressed us the most out of Artur Rej’s latest firing. The artist managed to achieve a truly remarkable, beautiful color, a gentle green that fades seamlessly into the warm, natural orange of the clay. This combination of soft tones reminds us of a sunset.
The gaiwan is fairly large yet sits comfortably in the hand, and the lid’s handle is easy to grip with either a pinch or your fingers without any risk of burning yourself. The lid fits securely on the body, and the gaiwan pours the infusion in a steady, fast stream.
Capacity is about 130 ml, just right for three or four people.
The gaiwan is fully glazed, which means it does not affect the taste of the tea and can be safely washed in a dishwasher.

Artur Rej crafts artistic teaware in his studio nestled in the Bóbr Valley Landscape Park, where he also runs pottery workshops. His ceramic style is truly distinctive—his pieces are known for their cheerful, rich colors and soft, rounded forms that invite touch as much as admiration.
