The first recollection of a trip to Egypt has to be of karkade! The sweet-sour brew has a wonderfully deep-red colour, and is most often served with a hefty chunk of sugar. It quenches thirst like nothing else and the flavour is hard to beat. We’re talking, of course, about the hibiscus flower.
