Shiboridashi is a Japanese variation of a gaiwan, the traditional small vessel used for brewing tea. You can learn more about it here.
Shiboridashi was created with delicate Japanese teas in mind, although you can use it to comfortably brew any kind of tea. It differs from a gaiwan thanks to its spout and the small grooves inside that act as a built in strainer able to hold back even the tiniest leaves.
It holds 90 ml.
The vessel is covered with glaze, so it does not affect the taste of the tea and can be washed in a dishwasher.
We highly recommend pairing this shiboridashi with this chahai. They look beautiful together and their capacities match perfectly.
