At last we have a powdered hojicha for you! There’s no denying that everyone has already heard about matcha, but hojicha is now having its moment in the sun. Growing in popularity with western lovers of Japanese cuisine, the tea is perfect in a hojicha latte, in a tea-alternative to tiramisu or in a delicious ice cream.
Our hojicha powder comes exclusively from high-grade sencha leaves that are subjected to a traditional sand-roasting and later, a very finely milling. It retains its aroma even after baking and gives baked-goods the unique flavour of roasted tea, reminiscent of caramel and nuts.
