Matcha Ippuku is a first‑harvest Japanese matcha with a deep, vibrant green color, a beautiful foam, and a clear umami profile. It was created with traditional water‑only preparation in mind, but it also makes an excellent higher‑quality latte. Its flavors are rich and expressive, with a bright, striking green that easily stands out even when mixed with milk.
Matcha Ippuku is powdered exceptionally fine, which gives it a beautifully thick foam and makes it easy to whisk smooth without any clumps. It comes from Kyoto, straight from Uji, the most iconic matcha‑growing region in Japan, known for its long tradition and consistently high quality.
“Ippuku” in Japanese means “a single bowl of tea”: a saying meaning a small pause, a moment to breathe in the middle of the day. That’s exactly what we wanted Matcha Ippuku to be: a tiny, special break, colorful and sensory, yet approachable enough to slip comfortably into everyday life.

Usucha style (lighter, foamy matcha):
1.6g/70ml water

Soak the fibers of the chasen (bamboo whisk) in warm water.
It’s worth sifting matcha through a strainer directly into the chawan (large tea bowl) to avoid clumping.
Add water and stir with the chasen 4-5 times in a sweeping circular motion at the bottom of the bowl to set the powder in motion. Then, for 30 seconds, vigorously move the chasen in a “W” shape back and forth at the bottom of the bowl.
Finally, gently run the chasen over the surface of the infusion to lightly break up any excess foam.
