Description
Frozen Peak is a slightly darker, slightly more roasted oolong from Taiwan. Compared to the classic Golden Lily, its infusion has more warm sweetness and rich roasted flavors, along with a deep pure gold color.
Multiple low-temperature baking sessions give the tea delightful aromas of caramelized nuts and wild honey, while retaining the charming floral notes for which Taiwanese teas are famous.
The name Frozen Peak indicates its place of origin, the mountain (or rather plateau) Dong Ding, which is the homeland of these warmer, more roasted oolongs. Contrary to intuition, this peak is not perpetually snow-covered, but it does boast fantastic climatic conditions. Very sunny mornings and very misty afternoons create an ideal environment for tea. The high humidity of the region and frequent, abundant rainfall allow the bushes to produce lush leaves, and the spring coolness makes them grow slowly, gaining a lot of depth and complexity in flavor.
