Description
Genmaicha is a popular Japanese green tea that is blended half and half with roasted rice. It works well as an everyday tea and the Japanese often drink it after hearty meals. Roasted Japanese Hokkaido rice perfectly compliments a classic sencha, giving the brew depth and character.
Wait, wait… sencha? That’s right. However, the most common genmaicha is the blend of rice and bancha (second flush tea), which is usually not very high quality. However, in this case we are dealing with our Sencha Yamabuki, which is a fresh first flush tea. As a result, this tea is a genuine exception on the market. The rice doesn’t mask the weak quality leaves but rather it enriches them with roasty, grainy notes. The experience is incredibly satisfying – we strongly recommend trying it.
