Description
Golden Tips is a perfect example of a classic Yunnan black tea. Early spring harvests full of young leaves and tiny, golden coloured buds guarantees a complex but very approachable flavour. Within this tea we find characteristic honey notes, but also flavours closer to fruit, such as dates or peaches. A perfect choice for fans of sweeter, traditional black teas.
Before brewing, the aroma of the leaves alone heralds the ‘’dessertiness’ of Golden Tips. Fittingly for teas from Yunnan, the leaves are bigger than those found in the majority of other teas. The amount of potential infusions is also larger. It’s worth allowing the golden tips to demonstrate its character at least a few times!
Harvest: spring 2024
Origin: Yunnan, China
Cultivar: Yunnan Da Ye
Profile: date molasses, peach, chokeberry
Our impressions
Antoni
This tea comes from a farmer who has been producing hongcha for 40 years in a region now dominated by pu-erh teas. He could, like others, follow the trend and sell his tea at higher prices, but he stubbornly sticks to his roots. You can feel the tradition in these leaves—it’s a classic dianhong, thick, sweet, and very fruity.

Barwy herbaty – czerwień
Czym jest hongcha, czerwona herbata? Jak ją parzyć, jaki ma charakter?
Barwy herbaty – czerń
Golden Tips to raczej herbata czerwona niż czarna… ale gdzie leży granica? Tipsy wychodzą doskonale też zachodnim, mocnym stylu parzenia.
